Winter Warmth with Lighthouse Clothing

AD – This jacket was complimentary in return for a review.

Warm winter layers are an essential when you live by the coast – with chilling sea air, blustery winds and a lot of rain, the South coast can be very cold! When the lovely people over at Lighthouse Clothing offered to send over a jacket for me to try out, I leapt at the opportunity to properly test a jacket and hopefully find a new favourite. I love that Lighthouse Clothing have a nautical theme with their products, which matches perfectly with my love of boating and living near the South coast!

Lighthouse Clothing are based in Ireland, where they experience their fair share of rain, wind and unpredictable weather – so all of their clothing is designed with the weather in mind! Each of their items is lovingly made and doesn’t sacrifice style in order to be practical – so whether you’re walking to the office or walking along the beach, there’s a jacket for any occasion.

I’m personally a big fan of down jackets – they’re practical, lightweight, warm and perfect for frosty days. I chose to try the Lara Down Jacket in deep red from Lighthouse Clothing – and it’s perfect for me! I love the dark red colour, the slim puffa style and flattering fit. I did order a size up to make sure I could fit layers underneath (always an essential thing to do) and I’m pleased with how it fits. I’ve worn it on some blustery days, and the jacket seems to be nicely windproof too.

The Lara Down Jacket from Lighthouse Clothing is water repellent too, which is perfect for our unreliable British weather! It’s also washing machine safe, which is very useful. Two pockets for essentials – or chilly hands, brass zip detailing and a flattering chevron pattern.

I love wearing it and can see this jacket being a perfect mid-layer if it’s a particularly cold day, as it’s slim enough to fit under a bigger jacket. We’ve got a trip to Iceland booked for March, so I’m planning on bringing this Lighthouse Clothing jacket with me to squeeze under my big, thick coat.

I’ve worn this jacket from Lighthouse Clothing most days since the temperature has dropped to near zero, and it’s kept me beautifully warm. Ordinarily I opt for jackets that are warm & practical over jackets that are fashionable but lacking in warmth or functionality – so I’m very pleased to have discovered a jacket from Lighthouse Clothing that can be practical, water repellent and warm without sacrificing style.

The Lara Down Jacket has an RRP of £84.95, which seems to be a fairly average price for a down jacket – but I’ve noticed Lighthouse Clothing have an excellent sale on at the moment making it under £50! It’s excellent quality and priced well for what the jacket offers.

I absolutely love this jacket and I’m definitely considering trying some of the other products that Lighthouse Clothing have to offer – if you’re interested in browsing their range, you can find their website here and the link to the Lara Down Jacket here.

If you’ve tried Lighthouse Clothing before, I’d love to know what you think!

    Hey Kat,
Loved it so much, I have just ordered one. Plus they sent me a £10 off voucher so that brought the price down ( excuse the pun) even more! I have also contacted them to say I purchased it after reading your reviews and seeing your photos.
