Pizza is one of the best comfort foods, without a doubt, and while there are plenty of large companies who can fuel your Friday night pizza fix (I’m looking at you Domino’s), there are plenty of independent pizza delivery options across the country too. My local independent pizza spot is Three Joes, based in Fareham town centre – they also have a branch in Winchester which is ever popular. A couple of weeks ago we were hit with a pizza craving and decided to finally try Three Joes – which was an excellent decision!
Three Joes opened their first restaurant in 2017, so they’re a relatively young restaurant – but their Winchester and Fareham branches have been extremely popular since opening. They have even reached the no.1 spot for Pizza in Hampshire on TripAdvisor! Three Joes started with the aim to serve delicious Neopolitan sourdough pizza to the average joe – unpretentious, simple restaurants which pride themselves in their high-quality ingredients & delicious flavours.
Both branches offer various delivery & collection options, with eat in when possible! We ordered ours via Deliveroo from the Fareham branch.
Unable to resist the unusual flavours, Tom ordered the Teriyaki Beef pizza – what a brilliant combination!
We also ordered a garlic bread to share, a Chicken Caeser pizza for Mum (which disappeared very quickly!) and a Margherita pizza with salami for me.
All of the pizzas were excellent – from the sourdough base & tomato sauce through to the toppings, there were no complaints from us. The sourdough base was the standout part of the pizza for me, pillowy, soft and with a crisp bottom – the perfect pizza dough!
I think it’s safe to say that pizza night will be looking a lot better in our household from here on!
If you’re local to the Fareham or Winchester branches, make sure to give Three Joes a try the next time you fancy a pizza. I’m yet to eat in at either branch, but I’ve been keen to do so since they opened so will be visiting ASAP!
