Christmas can be a busy and sometimes overwhelming time for many – with a huge amount of pressure surrounding the festive season, lots of commitments and present buying, it’s often a stressful time of the year. So, with this in mind, just before Christmas Eve we packed our bags and headed to rural Somerset for a cosy and relaxing weekend away in an airbnb.
As it happened, it was actually our first experience of booking an airbnb – and we were so impressed! Our host was friendly and extremely helpful, booking & payment was a breeze and we came away happy with every aspect of our trip. We chose to book one of the airbnb plus listings, a converted granary near Bath. The interiors looked like they were straight from a Pinterest board, which was absolutely perfect for us.
We enjoyed our stay so much that I absolutely had to share this gem with you all.
Shall we head inside?

As you step through the door, you’re greeted with beautiful exposed beams, a modern log burner, simplistic decor and high ceilings. It’s probably the most stunning place we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying.

The kitchen was fully equipped with all the cooking essentials, plus our host was kind enough to leave a welcome hamper for us – with some homemade bread and snacks. There was even a selection of homemade jams in the fridge along with butter and milk – all of the essentials for our stay were taken care of.

The woodturner kept the granary cosy and warm, and heated floors throughout were a very pleasant addition!
Minimal styling continued through to the bedroom and bathroom, which were both comfortable and beautiful – although if you book this airbnb for yourself, make sure you’re comfortable with having an open archway from the bedroom to the bathroom!

We didn’t find the lack of bathroom door to be a problem during our stay – it was just a matter of logistics!
The bath was incredible – the floor standing bath of dreams, and so deep and comfortable to lie in!

All in all, our stay at this airbnb was very pleasant and we’d definitely book to stay again. Everything in the granary has been carefully thought out, and the decor is beautiful. Outside, the surroundings are lush and green, and the airbnb is next door to where the host is – so help is never far away if you have any issues (which we didn’t).
