Shrove Tuesday – widely known as Pancake Day – is just around the corner, and while most of us (myself included) would ordinarily cook up a pancake feast at home, there are some fantastic pancakes in Hampshire that are currently available for takeaway! So, here’s something a little different for you to read and perhaps order this Pancake Day. Shrove Tuesday falls on Tuesday 16th February this year, so mark the date in your calendar and save this post for later!
It’s worth noting that there are plenty of places across the county offering various forms of takeaway pancake this year – all of which I’m sure are delicious – however, I only feature places on my blog that I have eaten from myself, so that you can be sure that all of my recommendations have been tried & tested by yours truly!
FEED, Portsmouth
Located just outside of Gunwharf Quays, underneath the train tracks, FEED are known for their excellent burgers, big breakfasts and even bigger pancakes. I actually ate this HUGE stack of pancakes last year for pancake day, and I can assure you that they were fantastic.
So, my recommendation would be the southern fried chicken pancakes (if you’re a regular, you’ll know all about my love affair with fried chicken!), which you can order as a triple stack for £10. It is an enormous portion, but I reckon you’re up for the challenge. You can order from FEED on UberEats & Deliveroo, or directly from their website for collection.
This year, FEED are offering special pancake platters on Tuesday 16th February, which are available as three options – sweet, savoury or vegan. These are available for delivery or collection from FEED, priced at £20 per platter for 8 pancakes. Find out more here!

Josie’s, Winchester/Bishops Waltham/Petersfield/Romsey
OF COURSE I had to mention Josie’s – they serve up the biggest, fluffiest, most unique pancakes I’ve ever had, topped with an ever changing selection of sweet & savour flavours. I’m a BIG fan.
Over the years I’ve sampled a fair few of their pancakes – with my favourite being the fried chicken pancakes (who’s surprised? No one!) – and the good news is that they are all available for takeaway from their sites across Hampshire! Just order online for collection at your local Josie’s.
The pancake offering at Josie’s is extensive, with 7 options currently on their menu – however, they usually offer a special menu for pancake day, so I imagine we will see some new flavours pop up! You can order pancakes in stacks of 1, 2 or 3 – be warned, these are FILLING, and a 2 stack will most definitely serve as a meal for one!
My personal picks from their pancake menu would be the fried chicken pancakes (from £6.10), bacon pancakes (from £5.25) or the Biscoff pancakes (from £5.25) – but everything on the menu is very tempting. Head over to the Josie’s website for more information & to order!

So, as it turns out, the majority of the pancakes that I’ve eaten in Hampshire have been at Josie’s (no.1 fan right here), so this post has turned out to be rather short & sweet (get it?).
However, there are options here covering Portsmouth, Bishops Waltham, Petersfield, Romsey & Winchester – which is a pretty good selection for you to choose from for Pancake Day in Hampshire!
Hopefully you find this list of takeaway pancakes in Hampshire useful – and, if you are planning to stay traditional and cook up some pancakes at home, I’d recommend checking out Sophie’s banana pancake recipe & Gemma’s vegan lemon & poppyseed pancake recipe – I’ve tried both & they make for fantastic pancakes!
