The Old Forge Tea Room, Hambledon

Tucked away in the quiet village of Hambledon, on the outskirts of Waterlooville, is The Old Forge Tea Room. A favourite among locals and passing cyclists, this quaint tea room is a lovely small spot for a bite to eat and a coffee. Ordinarily The Old Forge Tea Room is open for breakfast, lunch, cakes and hot drinks – but, in response to current times, they are only open for takeaway cakes and hot drinks at the moment.

You’ll find The Old Forge Tea Room on West Street, easy to locate as you drive through Hambledon. Hambledon is a quiet rural village, home to our favourite pub – The Vine, Hambledon Vineyard – producers of excellent English sparkling wine and this tea room.

There isn’t really any parking, but you can park along the street – or, if you’re local, cycle or walk there!

Each day there is a huge selection of freshly baked cakes available at the counter, alongside local ice cream from Here Dairy and a selection of soft drinks. The perfect selection for a midday treat!

On our visit we opted for the superfood flapjack – it just looked incredibly tempting.

Here it is. Isn’t it the most beautiful flapjack you’ve ever seen?

Stuffed with chopped dried fruit, chocolate chips, oats and topped with blue cornflowers – this was a really tasty flapjack. It’s definitely inspired me to be more creative when we bake flapjacks at home!

If you happen to be passing by Hambledon, The Old Forge Tea Room is most definitely worth a visit. It’s a fantastic independent cafe run by a lovely couple, and their cakes are amazing.
