Pizza. Everyone’s favourite comfort food, and Franco Manca serve up the best pizza outside of Italy (in my humble opinion!). The new extension of West Quay, Southampton is host to a fantastic range of smaller restaurant chains, including Franco Manca, which has fast become my favourite pizza joint. Fresh, fast sourdough pizza and simple italian decor makes for a fantastic lunch venue.

One of my favourite things about Franco Manca is how reasonably priced everything is – with pizzas ranging from £4.95 to £8.25, you really can’t go wrong! Especially when everything on the menu is simply so delicious.

Olives – one of my favourite things, and if you haven’t yet tried Nocellara olives, you need to. Now.

We also had some chorizo bites – thinly sliced and mouth-wateringly good.

Plus some cheese garlic bread, of course! Now, I don’t want you to panic… but this is the best garlic bread I have ever tasted. A soft crust, freshly crushed garlic and excellent mozzarella – truly spectacular.

Each pizza is freshly made by a team of grinning staff, topped with simple, fresh and top quality ingredients and served with a smile. An excellent experience all round!

Dad opted for the No. 5 – topped with anchovies, olives, garlic, mozzarella, tomato and capers. Delicious.
I chose the meat special, topped with wild pig & fennel salami, wild broccoli, mozzarella, another cheese I’m not sure of, and tomato! Really, really excellent – a fantastic combination of flavours.

If you find yourself in West Quay – or near any other Franco Manca – you need to visit. Fantastic, fresh, fast food, friendly staff and a beautiful setting. What’s not to love?

Looks amazing, sadly I don’t live near a Franco manca. But if ever I,m in that area I,ll give it a try.
