Now that the majority of us are at home a lot more, it’s safe to say snacking habits have increased. It’s hard to resist when you’re so much closer to the fridge all day! After a week (or so) of excitedly baking cookings, delicious flapjacks (see Jaye’s recipe) and eating far too much bread, I’ve started to crave something a little healthier when it comes to a snack. Enter Glow Foods!

Glow Foods are a Hampshire-based small business selling a range of handmade, pre-prepared food – all available delivered directly to your door. They’re whipping up delicious energy balls, salad jars and breakfast jars, all of which are 100% plant-based and dairy free – making their food a great choice for a range of diets. Now, more than ever, it’s important to support local small businesses wherever possible – which is why I’m so pleased to be sharing Glow Foods with you all.

The company is run by Millie & Natalie – aka the Glow Foodies. They’re passionate about producing delicious & healthy recipes that are kind to the planet as well as your body, which is why they’re proud to be 100% plant-based and dairy free, using whole foods, not using refined sugar or preservatives, no plastic and only biodegradable & recyclable packaging. All of the good stuff!

The lovely ladies over at Glow Foods sent across some of their ‘All About Almonds’ energy balls for me to try – and the timing couldn’t have been better. These have earned a permanent spot on my desk while I’m working from home, and taste indulgent while being 100% good for you.

Glow Foods energy balls

Goodness oozes from these Glow Foods energy balls, and I’m enjoying eating them much more than I thought I would. I’ve tried a few other energy balls that I’ve spotted in supermarkets that just didn’t taste good – at all – so I was really pleasantly surprised when I tried these almond energy balls and found them to be delicious.

If you’re interested in ingredients, you’ll love these – there’s only four of them! Glow Foods keep their ingredients as minimal as possible in all of their creations, and these almond energy balls contain just dates, almonds, almond butter and cacao nibs. You can’t get much more natural than that!

If you’re looking for a new snack to try during this increased time at home and fancy supporting a local small business, head over to the Glow Foods website to browse their offerings – I’m definitely going to be ordering more energy balls to keep me going.

While you’re here, tell me – what’s your favourite snack while you’re working from home? I’m partial to a chopped apple with some peanut butter – so good!
