Coffee. Most people love it – and rely on it – and lately it’s even become somewhat of an art. I personally always enjoy a Starbucks, but it’s often more enjoyable when you stumble upon an independent coffee shop. Enter Mettricks!
Mettricks have a few branches in Southampton, but as we were out for a day of shopping we visited Mettricks Guildhall. Situated right next to the theatre and opposite one of the many parks, it’s a quiet little haven in the busy Southampton city centre.

The interior is very Pinterest-worthy, with lots of exposed metal beams and vintage light bulbs. My first impression was how spacious the coffee shop is – high ceilings and spaced out tables are normally a rare sight in a coffee shop!

I opted for a Soya Cappucino, which was very nice – and one I’d go back for! They also have a great selection of nibbles, and in the evenings the coffee shop is transformed into a bar and dinner venue. The atmosphere inside during the day was relaxing and quiet – so perfect if you’re someone who enjoys taking their laptop out for working!

There’s also a Mettricks in Woolston (opposite Supermarine) if you’re looking for one outside of the centre of town – which is next on my list to visit!
Their website is here. Make sure you stop by for a cuppa!

That looks very interesting and worth a try, always happy to pop in for a coffee, I wonder if they have many branches! ☕️
I’ve lived in Southampton for just under two years now and I still have never been to a Mettricks! I’m going to have to make a trip very soon, the decor is gorgeous!!
