Handcrafted Pizza from Arty-Stan Pizza, Southampton

There’s a new pizza man in Southampton who is serving up handcrafted pizza to locals – and he is INCREDIBLY popular! So popular, in fact, that his collection slots are always fully booked for the coming week. Arty-Stan Pizza was started by Jay in July 2020, creating artisan pizza creations in their home in Southampton after his wife bought him a pizza oven for his 40th birthday! Since launching, Arty-Stan pizza has been a huge success and Jay is now branching out & serving his Za’s at local events!

Arty-Stan Pizza focusses on excellent dough, high-quality ingredients & a small but inventive range of toppings. Serving only on Fridays via pre-booked collection slots, Jay’s lovingly handcrafted pizzas are in high demand & are guaranteed to live up to your high expectations! I’m pretty confident when I say that these are some of the best pizzas I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating – and they’re some of the best in Hampshire (if not THE best!).

I pre-booked a slot a few weeks ago & was eagerly awaiting last Friday for our first Arty-Stan experience – and they absolutely lived up to my high expectations! We pre-ordered our Za’s a couple of days before our collection day, opting for a pizza feast (why not?). Our pizzas were ready promptly & Jay’s service was excellent, as expected!

So, enough teasing – let me show you some excellent pizza. Warning – these images may induce drooling.

As you can see, we ordered a fair amount of pizza – which is always a good decision! It was incredibly hard to decide which pizzas to try, as they all sound excellent – so we opted for three different pizzas to share, along with both of the garlic breads on offer.

Arty-Stan Pizza is great value for money – our pizza feast came in at £43 which, compared to a standard pizza delivery (like Dominoes) doesn’t come in any more expensive, and by supporting a fantastic small biz you’re making the owner do a happy dance!

First up we have the garlic breads – the more garlic bread the better, in my humble opinion!

We ordered the classic Cheesy Garlic Bread tear & share star, which was AMAZING – you really can’t beat a cheesy garlic bread! The homemade garlic oil was excellent – very garlicky, which I love. Plus, the little triangles that make the star shape were stuffed with cheese, which was a brilliant surprise!

Of course, we also tried the Ol’Dirty Star-Lic – which is the same as the above, but topped with bacon & their signature fennel sausage. The triangles were also stuffed with sausage & bacon! This was *obviously* incredible (and excellent re-heated in the oven the next day) – but I think my personal favourite was the classic cheesy garlic bread!

Next we have the Piggy Three Ways – topped with fennel sausage, streaky bacon, salami milano and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. This is an excellent one for the meat feast lovers out there, and I loved the balsamic on top – a brilliant combination!

I opted for the Hot Honey Hog (pictured in the first image – I was too excited and started eating mine before taking a photo! That’s when you KNOW a pizza is good) – topped with fennel sausage, mascarpone and a drizzle of hot star honey. This is easily the best pizza I’ve ever had – from the tasty sausage (so good), to the perfectly doughy crust, crispy base and unique toppings, it was just everything I could want in a pizza! And let me tell you – adding a drizzle of hot star honey is a game changer.

If you order from Arty-Stan Pizza (which you absolutely SHOULD) – you have to try the Hot Honey Hog!

Last (and by no means least!) we have Big Tony – a classic pepperoni, with an added drizzle of hot star honey – we really loved it! This was an excellent pizza – perfect crust, perfect toppings.

What more can I say? These are easily the best pizzas I’ve had in Hampshire – the ingredients are clearly a superior quality, the dough is exceptional and the service & value for money is excellent.

Arty-Stan Pizza is a must try if you live in or near to Southampton! His collection slots do get booked up quickly, so head over to his Instagram page to see the latest availability.
