Normal. What does that word mean at the moment? For me, it means self-isolation, continuing working but from home, daily walks in our surrounding countryside and the occasional trip to our local village shop. The constant struggle to attempt to buy basics like toilet roll, hand soap, flour and eggs. The world has officially gone a little bit mad – but we’re gradually getting used to it all.
I thought I’d come online and write a little something addressing the current situation and what you can expect from me here on Kat Got Your Tongue during these strange times. Nothing will be changing here regarding content, and I hope that’s okay with you all! I have plenty of ideas for blog posts, ranging from Hampshire-based posts to ones further afield – and there’s a load of Iceland blog posts coming your way as well. I’ve got a few planned focusing on supporting some local businesses too, to give them a little extra love in these difficult times.

My intention is to continue producing content as normal in order to provide a little bit of escapism, which I think we could all use at the moment! Whether you’re suffering from some wanderlust, bored at home, planning an upcoming trip or plotting all the places you’re going to eat at in Hampshire once this is all over, I hope that what I’m putting out online can be of some use to you.
If you’re looking for other things to keep you busy while you’re stuck from home, I’ve been reading a lot of Beth Sandland’s posts lately (she has lots of isolation activity ideas) and I’d recommend giving Jaye’s flapjack recipe a go as well (delicious & not too many ingredients). For more recipe ideas, have a look at Rosie’s ideas over on The Londoner (I made her peanut butter cookies last week – they’re amazing) and head over to The Mother Cooker for loads of seasonal recipe inspiration. For some more wanderlust reading, head over to Katie’s blog and check out her Slovenia content – it looks incredible there! I also love reading about travels from Vicky’s blog and The Break of Dawns blog.

While I have you, why not start your escapism by embarking on a virtual tour of Iceland? I have plenty more posts coming your way in the coming weeks, but here are my two current Iceland blog posts – read about the Blue Lagoon here and Thingvellir National Park here. We feel very grateful that we were still able to go on our Iceland trip at the beginning of everything escalating with coronavirus, and I’m looking forward to being able to book some more trips (hopefully) when this is all over.
Stay safe and we’ll speak soon!

Lovely blog today, we all need encouragement at the moment, I,ll read all your suggestions, keep well 😘
