Nosh Box: Grocery Delivery Boxes

Grocery delivery services are in demand now more than ever, and with most supermarkets struggling to offer home delivery slots and the shelves looking quite bare, a lot of us are looking for other options. A great option is deliveries from local businesses such as Nosh Box. Recently starting their grocery box delivery service, locals may know Nosh Box as their sister venture, Taste @ 17 – a brunch bar recently opened in Portsmouth. Nosh Box are offering a range of boxes delivered contactless directly to your doorstep, currently covering Portsmouth, Cosham and Waterlooville.

The delivery boxes on offer are:

  • Mixed fruit & veg box – £20 (typically containing apples, oranges, potatoes, onions, savoy cabbage, cauliflower, celeriac, cucumber & tomatoes – some items may change according to what is available on the delivery day)
  • Meat box – £20 (containing bacon, sausages, chicken, beef mince & ham hock)
  • Essentials box – £15 (containing milk, bread, eggs, pasta, homemade pasta sauce, butter, potatoes, apples, teabags, sugar & orange juice)
  • Breakfast box – £20 (serves 4 people – contains eggs, bacon, sausages, black pudding, tomato, mushrooms, bread & beans)
  • Roast chicken box – £30 (serves 4 people – contains a bacon & herb prepared large chicken, potatoes, seasonal veg, stuffing & gravy)

Alongside the above boxes, Nosh Box sometimes offer the occasional special box – they’re also talking about making up a BBQ box, perfect for this sunny weather!

We ordered a mixed fruit & veg box to be delivered to us (in Waterlooville) on Saturday, which arrived just after 3pm. I’d asked if they would be able to include bananas as well, which they managed to find for us – leaving me very pleased with their customer service!

I was really impressed when we opened up our box to find such a large amount of fresh produce inside. A few items were different to what is normally delivered, which was absolutely fine – not knowing which vegetables will arrive means that you can get creative with what you get!

For £20 all in, I’m really pleased with what we had delivered and regarding both quality & quantity, this is definitely good value for money. Alongside what we had expected to be delivered, we also received an aubergine, fresh herbs, carrots, lettuce, rhubarb and of course the bananas we had requested.

If you live in Portsmouth, Cosham or Waterlooville and would like to try out a delivery from Nosh Box, head over to their Instagram and Facebook pages for some further information. You can order via WhatsApp and pay by online bank transfer – it’s very easy and the delivery is contactless.

Deliveries of the fruit & veg box, meat box and essentials box are on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the breakfast box is delivered on Fridays and the roast chicken box is delivered on Saturdays. All deliveries are normally between 12pm – 4pm.

We’ll be ordering another fruit & veg box soon and we’ll definitely be ordering a meat box – it’s all great value for money and it’s fantastic to support local businesses wherever we can, especially when supermarkets are struggling to get stock.

I’d love to know if you decide to give Nosh Box a try!
