Autumn/Winter Essentials at Ocean Retail Park, Portsmouth

Autumn is finally here – and hasn’t it hit us with a thud? Frosty mornings, chilly days and early sunsets mean that it’s jumper season again, and I must say – that’s perfectly OK with me!

The arrival of colder weather means one thing – it’s time to go shopping and stock up on Autumn/Winter essentials! My essentials are pretty simple; lots of cosy layers, fluffy socks, boots and a good coat. So, I headed down to Ocean Retail Park in Portsmouth to pick up a few things for the cooler weather.

Ocean Retail Park have recently added a TK Maxx, a Boots and a M&S Food Hall to their collection of stores – which was fantastic news to me as they are three of my favourite places to shop! I popped to TK Maxx to browse their range of clothes, hoping to find a few Autumn/Winter items for my wardrobe.

TK Maxx are known for their discounted clothes, accessories and home items – many of which have over 50% off their RRP. There are many bargains to be found inside, and I don’t think I’ve ever made it out of a TK Maxx without an overflowing basket!

After spending far too long browsing the clothing rails, and heading into the fitting rooms twice, I came away from TK Maxx with a selection of clothes that I’m quite pleased with – all cosy, practical items that I know I’ll love wearing.

I know you’re dying to know what I bought! Go on then, let’s have a look inside my bag.

I picked up the most gloriously yellow rain coat – an item I had actually been hoping to get my hands on for several months. This gem is from Regatta, and was £29.99 (RRP £80). I also picked up two cosy knits, one cowl neck number with a speckled knit (£12.99) and the other a grey and blue striped long sleeve top (£14.99) – perfect for a base layer under jumpers and jackets. My final purchase – and my ultimate cold weather essential – was fluffy socks. These are incredibly soft, and I already have more pairs of these than I can count! This set was £4.99 for two pairs.

I’m really pleased with all of the items I picked up from TK Maxx – especially as the weather has been especially cold this past week!

My favourite purchase is definitely the Regatta yellow coat – lightweight and waterproof, this is perfect for the unpredictable Autumn weather we are currently experiencing. I love a pop of colour in my wardrobe, and this is just perfect! You’ll definitely spot me a mile off in this jacket, and I’m totally okay with that.

I’ve worn the cosy cowl neck knit a few times already – the relaxed fit and fine knit make for a comfortable, lightweight layer that is perfect for crisp Autumn days.

I’ve also had my new fluffy socks permanently on my feet all week – an essential for when you’re trying your best not to put the heating on at home! TK Maxx had a huge selection of socks, from lots of different brands, so I’d recommend heading there to stock up on some. You can never have too many fluffy socks!
