Weymouth is home to many good places to eat – and one of our favourites is the Dorset Burger Company. Situated just off the seafront in Weymouth, the Dorset Burger Company is well positioned to feed the masses but is just hidden enough that you can normally walk in and grab a table.
Nestled inside an unusual setting of an old chapel, the Dorset Burger Company is an independently owned restaurant that is proud to use as many local ingredients as possible in their burgers – championing the producers in and around Dorset.

Their menu is extensive and tempting, and you’re guaranteed to have trouble choosing – there’s just so much on offer! We’ve visited a few times over the years, but not often enough for us to have favourites just yet – so I opted for a new burger to me (washed down with a gin cocktail, of course).
If you’re a veggie or vegan, there are plenty of burgers to choose from as well. In fact, the Dorset Burger Company boasts an impressive range of 7 veggie & vegan burgers – which isn’t something I’ve seen on a lot of menus!
I opted for the Texan Stripper – and it was good. Served as they come with a portion of seasoned fries, the burgers at the Dorset Burger Company place flavour over beautiful presentation – and that’s just the way I like it.
The Texan Stripper burger comes topped with Monterey Jack cheese, tomato slices, Denhay Farms bacon, southern fried chicken goujons, mustard BBQ sauce and crispy onion bits – a delicious combination, as you can imagine, with a beautifully barbecued burger.
Here’s the Triple Meat Treat – a deliciously meaty mount of beef, pork and chicken atop a freshly baked roll. The Triple Meat Treat comes topped with Monterey Jack cheese, BBQ pulled pork, Denhay Farms bacon, strips of cajun spiced mambo chicken and garlic mayo.
Another beautifully executed burger that will definitely have us coming back for more!
Desserts at the Dorset Burger Company are generous, comforting and well priced. We opted to try a lotus biscoff cheesecake (always a winner!) and a classic baked New York cheesecake – both of which were rich, fluffy and tasty. The perfect way to end an excellent (and very filling) meal.
If you find yourself in Weymouth sightseeing or visiting the beach, make sure to drop by the Dorset Burger Company. Their burgers are some of the best I’ve had, and I really like their use of local suppliers wherever possible – the quality ingredients shines through in their food.
