Weymouth is one of our favourite towns to visit for a weekend away in Dorset, and for good reason! The harbour is beautiful, the town is easy to access and there are plenty of good places to eat. We visited Weymouth for the Seafood Festival back in July and stopped at The Crows Nest in the Square for breakfast.
The Crows Nest in the Square is a favourite among locals, recommended to me by my friend Holly who grew up there – and she was right about it being a great place for breakfast!

Nestled in a small square one street over from the harbour, The Crows Nest in the Square is a cosy spot that is perfect on a sunny day – although there is seating inside if the rain is threatening to come down, as it often does in England.
Grab a seat in the courtyard, order a pot of tea and spend a leisurely breakfast people watching and chatting with your companions.
You’ll find that the menu is extremely well priced, with the most expensive breakfast coming in at £7.95 – which is a bargain compared to a lot of other places! We opted for smoked salmon & eggs on toast for £5.95 each – poached for Tom, scrambled for me.
Doorstop wedges of freshly baked bread, lashings of butter, mounds of eggs and a generous helping of smoked salmon – all washed down with a pot of tea. Sounds pretty perfect, doesn’t it?
We had an excellent breakfast at The Crows Nest in the Square, and I’d happily recommend visiting if you find yourself in Weymouth for a weekend. The service was prompt, prices are good and the food was excellent.
You’ll find them on the far side of the harbour, around a 20 minute walk from the Premier Inn in town (if that’s where you’re staying!). Have a look at their website here, and they’re also open for lunch and dinner.
